Conducting

William holds an MA in choral and instrumental conducting, having studied with Peter Aston, Julian Webb and Chris Phelps, and has been involved in the directorship of several choirs, including choral societies, festival choruses, choral workshops, chamber choirs and stage musicals.

He is currently working with The Southwold and Reydon Choral Society, Hedenham Church Choir and Renaissance.

He has directed school and adult education choirs and has conducted chamber orchestras and string groups, working in opera, classical and contemporary music. Ensembles include; Allegro, The Contemporary Opera Group, The Drew Ensemble, The New Buckenham Players, The UEA Alumni Collective, Taverham Hall Chapel Choir, Waveney Children’s Choir, Bungay Choral Society, Renaissance, Hedenham Church Choir, The Castle Singers and The
Southwold and Reydon Choral Society.

Workshop and orchestral and community music conducting has also included work at The Norfolk and Norwich Festival, Dartington School of Music, The Black Shuck Festival, Bungay Folk Festival, Bungay High School, Stowupland High School, Ixworth Middle School, Kirkley Middle School and the Sing for Pleasure Organisation.
